No surprise really, but yesterday Rockstar Games finally confirmed that LA Noire has been delayed to 2011. The game was announced back in 2005 and during these five years we have seen very little information. Some people have even claimed that they have lost interest in the LA Noire and won’t buy it when it hit the stores.

Rockstar Games‘ long-awaited 1940s detective title L.A. Noire will not be coming this year as previously expected.

Take-Two announced during its third quarter earnings results the game has been delayed until the first half 2011. Last we heard was the game was supposed to ship this coming fall, but Rockstar has been silent on a release date, making today’s delay news not at all surprising.

Once a PlayStation 3 exclusive, Australia-based developer Team Bondi has had trouble getting the game off the ground since its big reveal in 2005.

I remember when GTA IV was first released. With a Metacritic score of 98, it had a tad bit of hype to live up to. Like most people, I was outside my local Gamestop at 11:00 PM impatiently waiting for my copy. The only other time I’ve anticipated a game this much was San Andreas. There was nothing I wanted more then to get home and pop in the disc. As soon as I heard Roman shout, ”Niko, my cousin!’, it hit me. This is the game I’ve been thinking about every time I went to sleep for years. I was astonished at the amount of detail put into this masterpiece. Never once did I doubt GTA IV was a 10/10, but other people just might have.

As the months passed, GTA had moved out of the spot light, but the hype didn’t. Over and over again, I hear it. “GTA IV is the most overrated game this gen!”. From then, until now, people complain that GTA IV was overrated. What I say to these people is, PAY ATTENTION! My guesstimation is 80% of the people don’t realise how good GTA IV really is. I’m a guy who can’t get enough details. Apparently Rockstar North has the same feeling I do. Down to the smallest crack in the road, or the way Niko stands when one foot is on the curb & the other on the street, it just seems perfect.

One thing I also hear people complaining about is the realism. I’ve never really understood this argument. Look back at previous GTA installments, what do you see? Some of the most realistic games possible on last gen hardware. Just because they took advantage of the GPU & PPU on todays consoles doesn’t mean they made it too realistic. All they did was take out things like the jet pack and car customisations. Things that don’t make or break a game. They did tone up the seriousness in GTA IV, which I’m a fan of. Combined with the story, and the game play, it just felt ‘real’.

So why do so many people on the Internet today believe GTA IV was overrated? It’s become quite clear. They’ve got so caught up in talking bad about the game, that they want it to be overrated. They never really gave it a chance from jump street. What I suggest to every GTA IV naysayer is, go play through it again. Rome Liberty City endlessly, until you see what I see. The most alive, astonishing, and realistic city you’ve seen in a video game ever. I hope Ive changed some minds out there, and I know there’s people that think I’m just a GTA fanboy. But, if you do play through GTA IV again because of this article, please, come in open minded and disregard anything anyone has said about this game. If you do, I can almost guarantee you’ll see what I see.

According to a post on Showbizspy ‘sources’ say that “Brad Pitt is the hot favorite to play renegade outlaw John Marston who is the protagonist in Red Dead Redemption” (developed by Rockstar Games)

Take this with a pinch of salt but the ‘sources’ had the following to say.

“This is an exciting project with a great character at the center of it,”

“The idea is to make this in the style of an epic Western movie but with a few modern touches.

“Brad is perfect for the role and he is being given first refusal.”

We contacted Rockstar about this matter and the only thing we got back is ( Not surprisingly ) : “No Comment”

Rockstar just released some new information regarding the new RDR DLC named: ‘Liars and Cheats Pack’.
It will be released on 9/12 and will be available on Xbox Live and Playstation Network simultaneously for 800 MS points or $9.99.

The Liars and Cheats Pack will contain a great range of new highly-requested features to expand the Free Roam world including Multiplayer Poker and Liar’s Dice, as well as a brand new Competitive Multiplayer gameplay mode. The Liars and Cheats Pack will also include the content previously announced as the Free Roam Pack. The Free Roam Pack was originally planned as a free download, but due to the platform networks’ restrictions on numbers of free packs we can give away (and our promise to bring you the free Hunting and Trading Outfits Pack – more on that below), we have instead added it to the Liars and Cheats Pack as one Free Roam release boasting the following features and more:

According to CVG, a research firm by the name of Cowen estimated that Rockstar’s LA Noire and the next Grand Theft Auto will both be released in 2011.

According to the latest research note, the firm predicts that GTA 5 should be released sometime in the second half of next year, something that is being supported by previous predictions and rumours.

“With just nine weeks until the end of FY10 and no announced release date for the title, we now assume ‘LA Noire’ will be released in 2011, and have removed it from our FY10 revenue build,”

“Take-Two continues to struggle with timely title releases. This presents risk to our FY11 estimates, which continue to assume the next console ‘GTA’ release in 2H:F11.”

Of course, theese are predictions and should, as always be taken with a grain of salt.

Rockstar just updated the Frontier Collection of Red Dead Redemption limited-edition items at the Rockstar Warehousewith the Red Dead Redemption Original Soundtrack CD.

According to online retailer site Amazon.com, Max Payne 3 will be released on January 31, 2011. Earlier R* announced  that Max Payne had been pushed back to 2011, but they didn’t confirm an exact date. If the date is correct remains to be seen, but we can always hope.
