Los Santos (Los Angeles)

Los Santos is the first city you’ll be able to explore when you start to play San Andreas, based loosly off of Los Angeles. The core of the story’s begining is set in this city. The population varies depending on the suberbial area you are in, to the east of downtown, lie the high density gang areas. To the north lie the Los Santos hills where all the rich and famous people live, to the west is Vinewood (Hollywood) where there are movie studio’s and clean suberbial area’s as well as beaches and luxurious clothes shops.

Santa Marina Beach
This is based off of Los Angeles’ Santa Maria beach. During daylight, beach goers and sunbathers will flock to the beach, however when nightfall comes; gang members can be seen hanging around causing trouble as well as drug dealers. Anotherwords, it becomes dangerous!

Rodeo

Rodeo is based on the Bevellley Hills area, home of the rich and famous as well as luxurious and fancy clothes shops that only the rich can afford as well as the criminal elite.

Ganton

Ganton is based on the city of Compton – Famous for it’s years of gang violence, drugs and corruption. Ganton is CJ’s home turf and the home turf of the Grove St Families and is the center of the story at the start of the game.

Mulholland

Mullholland is based on the residentual Hollywood area, home of the rich and famous and legendary rapper, Mad Dogg. The area’s gerographical possition gives residents a great veiw of the town down below.

San Fierro (San Francisco)

San Fierro is based on San Francisco, this city has a unique geographical possition with sharp hills, tram lines and a peacefull atmosphere. San Fierro has three distinct districts, the industrial area which lies south of downtown, a residentual area which lies west of the downtown area and downtown which can be found north of the main highway entrance into San Fierro. There are also many nighclubs and other entertainment venues in and around town, meaning the underworld drugs trade in this city thrives as well as other small-time gangs.

Hashburry

Hashburry is based on Haight-Ashburry and is home to the hippies and cannabis. There is nothing to fear in this part of town.

Juniper Hollow

This area is home to the main residentual area in San Fierro, with steep hills and winding roads. This area is also home to Jizzy’s Pleasure Domes and the Gant bridge (based on the Golden Gate Bridge) which links San Fierro to the Tierra Robada countryside

Easter Basin

Easter Basin is home to the Kincaid and Garver bridges. The Kincaid bridge is based on Scotland’s Fourth Rail Bridge and the Garver bridge is a mix between the Fourth Road Bridge and the Bay Bridge. The Dockland and Bay area has become home to many different Vietnamise gangs. This area also includes the main industrial area which is over-run by drug dealers and criminals, it is beleived that this area is the main entrance point for drugs, weapons and imigrants.

Doherty

Doherty is home to an old industrial area, the area has suffered an enonomic decline so the area has since become home to many run down buisnesses and industrial complexes. However, this hasn’t stopped the underworld as this area is home to gangs, prostitutes and pimps. This area is also home to a car showroom and CJ’s garage buisness.

Las Venturas (Las Vegas)

Las Venturas is the third city in San Andreas, Las Venturas is home to the Las Venturas strip, which is home to many dozens of casino’s where people can go and waste their money. The city has a little Itallian and Chinese influence. The city is set on a desert plain and features distinct residentual and industrial areas. The main area of buisness is within the main highway that surrounds the city, the outskirts of the city (the area outside the highway ring) are middle class residentual area’s (to the north and south) and industrial area to the west of the strip.

Rockshore

Rockshore ain’t exactly the most glamorous area in the city but if you are on a tight budget this is the place to go. However this is probably the most unsafe part of town with hookers, drug dealers and criminals alike.

The Strip

The Strip is home to many casino’s where people can go and blow their money. The casino’s include Four Dragons Casino (based on the Four Queens), one of the newest buildings in the area. This casino is funded with money from Hong Kong, and said to have connections with Triad gangs in San Fierro, although nothing has ever been proven. You can also visit the Come-a-lot casino, famous for being not-so-fun, although the structure of the building is very appealing. Other casinos include the Camel’s Toe (egyptian themed) and Caligula’s Palace, a mob controlled casino based on Caesar’s Palace.

The Old Venturas Strip

The Old Venturas Strip is probably the most brightest places in the whole of Las Venturas, featuring casino’s and many nightlife venues.

Las Venturas Airport

The Las Venturas Airport is one of the biggest airports in San Andreas, many countries fly direct to LVA.

Beyond the Cities

IMAGEBeyond the main cities lie diverse countryside and small towns. In rural area’s you will find deserts, farms, rivers, forests, grassland and a whole lot more. There are also some side missions in these areas so you won’t find yourself board when travelling though the rural area’s.
