Interview Scott “SaD” Creator.

Modding for San Andreas is still going on, another great mod is on it’s way to San Andreas.

“San Andreas Deluxe AKA SAD will be a mod unlike any other. It will be based more around being a police officer and without changing the normal single player mode we will be making the game fun again to just drive around and kill crap. There will be a lot of realism but with that GTA humor we all came to love. When running a completed game there will always be something to do as a cop or just being a crook. We have tons of features we plan to add but with limited staff we are slowly adding stuff we think would be fun.”

Today I got the chance to sit down with the creator of the mod, he tell us some interesting things and more!
Check it out below!
How did you came up with the idea to create this mod?
Scott: Back before GTA:SA I was part of the team that created Vice City Deluxe and I really have not found any real total conversion mods that do the stuff the old Vice City Deluxe did for SA so I decided to make one.

How many people are working on the project, and how much time is spend on it?

Scott: So far I do almost 100% of the work including maintaining the police car mods site. When needed BXBugs123 assists me with some basic modeling. It would be great to have more people but I have got no offers yet.

Why did you choose to mod GTA Sa and not IV? I’m guessing that Sa is already a playground for modders, So it’s easier to do stuff?

Scott: Two reasons, First because GTA:SA has became so advanced with mods such as CLEO and thousands of car model replacements. The second being I am in the military and right now have no room for a desktop, I use my laptop for most things and it is not powerful enough to run GTA:IV although it runs GTA:SA just fine.

How long are you guys involved in modding? You don’t develop a mod like this over a week modding experience.

Scott: If it remains only me working on it I should have a closed alpha release by the end of next month. This mod has been in production since March. What takes me the most time is selecting the cars I want to use for the replacements and working out CLEO bugs.

For the tech guys: What kind of tools are you using?

Scott: 3D Studio Max, Adobe Photoshop CS2, TXD Workshop, Spark, Visual Basic Studio 2003

Last question: Are you planning on doing a GTA IV mod in the future?

Scott: When I get a computer that is capable of running the game efficiently and more mods are released for the game.

Thanks again!

Scott: Anytime, I have included some new exclusive screenshots I took today I hope you enjoy.

I would like to let you guys know that Scott can use some help on this mod, you must have experience with these kind of programs/tools.

Interview Weses. “Feeling Of Liberty”

Thank you for taking the time to talk about your video: “The Feeling of Liberty”!

Weses: It’s a pleasure!

The first question, where you always a big fan of the GTA franchise?

Weses: Yes, I’ve been one since the first GTA. I remember playing it on PS1, and saying to myself “Wow, I can do anything!” It’s really amazing how much GTA has improved over the years, and with GTA IV you really can do anything.

When did you start making this kind of cinematic movies?
YouTube is full of gameplay videos but these kind of movies is really what we need.

Weses: I started back in early 2007. I noticed games had tons of comedy videos on YouTube, it seemed that every new machinima maker was aiming to create a funny popular video. So I decided to make something different. Something beautiful and unique. Then I made Half-Life ‘Till I Die, and realized making something like that allowed me to discover my movie making abilities fully. Yea, but if people enjoy making gameplay videos, I say let ‘em keep doing what they enjoy!

What kind of programs did you use to create “The Feeling Of Liberty” and the other videos?
Did you use the In-Game Video Editor only or other programs to?

Weses: Sony Vegas and Fraps. I made the camera movements with the video editor, removed the HUD and recorded with Fraps, then edited the clips in Vegas.

What inspired you to use Teardrop for this video? It’s a very lounge/space song It really fits in, it’s not a everyday song somebody would choose, so when I heard it, I was like, Yeah!

Weses: The beat of the song kind of has this urban feel to it, and when the piano, guitar, voice etc. comes in, it just makes it feel so much better. That’s one of the reasons I added “Feeling” in the title. The song is brilliant, and I hope you thought the same with the video.

Are you planning on doing more videos in GTA IV? Since this one is really getting attention now, I’m sure fans would love some more of that stuff!

Weses: Yes, I’ve got a few ideas floating around in my head at the moment. We’ll see!

The ” Half-Life Till I Die Final” is also a great movie, where do you get the inspiration? Do you just use your imagination or do you get some things from existing movies?
I was getting into it so much, like seeing a epic
movie which you do not want to end ,ever.

Weses: I mostly just use my imagination. I think of a few camera angles in my head and how cool an object/person/building would look at a certain angle, then I make it come to life with video games. They allow me to show every shade of my creativity.

I won’t make this any longer, thanks for your time, do you want to say anything else to the readers?

Weses: I hope you all enjoyed watching the video and reading this. Thank you!

Thanks Again!
